First Annual BBQ Throwdown
The Chef’s Gallery has thrown down the BBQ glove and challenged Stillwater’s best chefs. Enjoy samples of great BBQ and Beer from local Stillwater restaurants and Lift Bridge Brewery. Participating restaurants and business include: Marx Fusion Bistro, Savories European Bistro, Smalley’s Caribbean BBQ, The Water Street Inn, The Chef’s Gallery (LocoVores), and The Kitchen. The Throwdown will take place at The Kitchen’s patio in the Grand Garage building. Voluntary donations will be collected to support our troops this Memorial Day weekend.

Stillwater Veterans Memorial Annual Memorial Day Program
Memorial Day events set at Veterans Memorial The annual Memorial Day program will be held at the Stillwater Veterans Memorial at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 31. The public is invited to attend to honor those who have served in the armed forces. Attendees may bring lawn chairs, though some will be provided. The Veterans Memorial is located at the corner of Third and Pine streets, across from the Washington County Historic Courthouse in Stillwater. The featured speaker for the event is Lt. Col Barbara OReilly, chief of the Deployment Cycle Support, Minnesota National Guard. The Stillwater High School band will perform, and their will be a reading of the names on the Wall of Honor. Refreshments will be available afterward.

Bayport Memorial Day Parade
The Bayport Memorial Day Parade will advance north on Minnesota Highway 95 from Central Avenue to Seventh Avenue North, then west to Fifth Street, then south two blocks to Fifth Avenue, then west to the conclusion at Hazelwood Cemetery. This event attracts not only crowds of Bayport residents but participants and spectators from neighboring communities.
Musical performances during the parade will be provided by the Hudson High School Band, St. Paul Police Band and Kracker Jacks Drumline. A memorial ceremony will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery immediately following the parade. Commander Greg Schlichting (retired) will be this year’s featured speaker. The Stillwater High School Band will perform selected patriotic music. Andersen Elementary students Noah Campbell will recite the “Gettysburg Address” and Nicole Haufe will recite “Flanders Field.”
