First seen by N.Y. audiences in 1938, Our Town is brought to the St. Croix River Valley by Festival Theatre. A touring production is available to all thirteen schools in the three-county Big Read area as well as homeschool and public performances at Festival Theatre. A fantastic community event! Billy McLaughlin is recognized internationally as a world-class acoustic guitarist and composer. His unique playing style can make a guitar sound as big as a grand piano yet as fluid as a violin. Recently diagnosed with focal dystonia, an incurable muscular disorder, Billy has switched to playing his guitar left-handed. Join River Market Co-op on a field trip to River Falls, WI, to participate in a maple syrup making process at Rising Sun Farm. Roger Browne, the owner, is a long time supplier of most of the summer produce at River Market. He will show you the various stages of maple syrup processing, from tapping the maple trees to boiling the sap. You will be able to sample and purchase the maple syrup at the farm. Wear appropriate clothing and rubber boots. Meet at River Market at 2:15 p.m. and carpool to the farm. Free!
