This week’s Room Highlight will focus on the Browning Suite. The Browning Suite was the original master bedchamber to the home and where the first owner John O’Brien spent his nights. The room is the most Victorian room in the house. Draped french doors open into this magnificent suite with the decor colored in rich chocolates and golds creating a very elegant atmosphere without being to feminine. The Browning Suite has a spectacular Rococo Revival queen size bed with a half tester canopy that is truly extravagant. It is a spacious room, very open and welcoming. The sitting area includes a cozy down-filled couch and built-in bookcases flank the gas fireplace. The windows face the west gardens and mermaid fountain, providing a lovely view for our guests. The bath features a large double whirlpool tub and also has the only regular shower head in the main house, the other rooms in the main house have hand-held showers. The sunlight reflects off the colors of the beautiful stained-glass window while you soak in the bath and the vintage tin-style ceiling invites you to reflect on times gone by. This is the perfect suite for couples to relax and enjoy each others company.
